Affordable iPod Repair Service Is A Must Have Solution

Apple Computer, Inc has introduced its avant-garde digital media player iPod that has been accepted as a category killer device. People of all age groups love this device and it is considered to be the best device to have in order to listen to music. What ails the effective use of this gadget is the lack of Affordable iPod Repair Service.
This well-known gadget is available in the market in four variants -the iPod mini, the tiny Shuffle, IPod Classic and the iPod U2. The models are really lightweight and can be easily pocketed. Except the small sized Shuffle, all other incarnations of the iPod possess a LCD display. However, the mass hysteria that the device created after its release was matched by voices of dissents about the dearth of quality Affordable iPod Repair Service.

What's unique about the iPod is that it redefines the concept of user friendliness and pristine audio quality. The first generation of iPod was meant only for listening to music but in the subsequent versions the capability of video playback and still picture viewing facility was added to meet the demand of the Apple loyalists.

Dropping the device accidentally causes the majority of the cases leading to a damaged iPod. In fact, the hard drive based variants of iPod are more susceptible to acquiring damage caused due to drop than the flash memory based ones. People who are avid iPod users can scratch the display screen by mistake. This mars the look and appeal of the device to an extent. Some of the careless users often cause damage to the device by dropping it into water. This is more harmful than anything else and can render the player useless. All these factors have necessitated the need of Affordable iPod Repair Service.

One of the major problems that plague the iPod users is the smudges and scratches on the screen .The Apple aficionados were quick to point out that the company has not built the device robustly. Problems like scratched and broken screen haunted many users of iPod and the company felt the heat and this led to the development of Affordable iPod Repair Service in the market.

The same type of screen problems also followed the launch of the hugely successful iPod Nano. The AppleCare Protection Plan and iPod's Limited Warranty neither cover unfortunately repairing the screen of iPod and thus damaging the screen remained to be a constant problem for the users. The terms and conditions of the company clearly mention that it is not compelled to repair iPods with damaged displays as they consider it as a type of accidental damage. As it has turned out for the users, the biggest advantage of iPod, which is its small size, is also its biggest limitation.

If a person sees that his iPod has received damage due to any of the aforesaid reasons, he can try repairing the player by purchasing Affordable iPod Repair Service kits from the market. However often it is difficult to do that and in that case he can get the repair work done by some certified and professional iPod technician.

Wi-Fi and Mobile Competition Highlight the Importance of Local Search and Mobile Search

The ways in which consumers access products and services are changing as consumer behaviour shapes and is shaped by the Internet. Increasingly tech-savvy consumers are turning to the Internet first to find the products and services they are looking for through local search before venturing out to shop. Now mobile search - web surfing on the fly through mobile phones and handhelds - is emerging as a preferred means of finding local goods and services online.
The U.K. is witnessing an emerging struggle between mobile service providers and telecoms over how Britons on the move will access the Internet. Wi-fi networks which allow laptops to access the worldwide web via radio signals that are picked up in wi-fi "hotspots" and rebroadcast over the airwaves are competing with both mobile phone technology and relatively new laptop plug-ins called "dongles" that allow users to connect their laptop directly to the Internet via their mobile phone service.

There were approximately 12,000 wi-fi hotspots in the United Kingdom in 2007, but that number has already more than doubled to approximately 26,800 according to estimates from Jiwire.com, an online directory of wi-fi hotspots in the U.K. Meanwhile, the number of consumers who use laptops versus desktops is also rising. Jupiter Research, a leading online and Internet research company, estimates that roughly 40% of people who use the Internet now own laptops. Increasingly, free wi-fi "hotspots" that do not charge a fee to laptop users who connect to the web via their services are being used by both local councils and private businesses to attract visitors and customers.

Yet, mobile phone technology has almost 100% penetration in Great Britain's markets, and next generation handheld and mobile products like the newly released Apple 3G iPhone hold out the promise of better and easier mobile search from increasingly sophisticated mobile devices with better keypads, screens and now touchscreens. In addition to the large number of consumers directly accessing the Internet via their mobile device, computer users are now also accessing the worldwide web via mobile networks.

Studies from market research and consultancy, You Gov, indicate that already 10% of computer users (presumably from among the 40% of internet users who own laptops) regularly access the Internet using a mobile phone connection, despite "dongle" plug-ins that fit into a laptop's USB port only being readily available for the last year. The clear advantage of mobile versus wi-fi as a portal to the Internet is that all that is needed for quick and relatively cheap online access is a near-universally available mobile network and not proximity to a wi-fi hotspot, which may or may not be free of charge, no matter how ubiquitous they are becoming.

It comes as no surprise that the consumers who are tapping into the potential for local search and mobile search tend to be younger and more affluent than other demographics and are thus. Moreover, You Gov research indicates that mobile broadband usage is most popular amongst students and other highly mobile individuals who do not spend a lot of time at home where a fixed Internet connection is most often available. These are the consumers who spend their time in the community and are more apt to frequent the local businesses and establishments that are targeting this techno-savvy, techno-proficient demographic.

The increasing ability and tendency of consumers - particularly young and affluent consumers - to access products and services in their local neighbourhood or community, either directly via their mobile phone network or through the array of proliferating wi-fi networks, highlights the challenges and opportunities that small businesses, entrepreneurs and growing businesses face in keeping step with evolving technologies and consumer tastes. These increasing challenges and opportunities highlight the need for local businesses and small businesses to ensure that they have an Internet presence which will allow them to effectively tap into the markets created by evolving local search and mobile search capabilities.

Five Ways to Take Care of Your Laptop

Laptops can be quite expensive--and you'll want to make sure yours lasts as long as possible. Here are a few tips to keep your laptop in great shape for years to come.
Keep food and beverages away from your laptop. If you spill a drink on your keyboard, your laptop's a goner--most laptops have the CPU built in underneath the keys. Keep food away as well--crumbs can fall between the keys and cause damage to the fragile hardware beneath.

Protect the power cord. Plug in your power cord away from high traffic areas. Always pull the power cord out of your computer by the plug, not by the cord itself--this can cause the plug to detach from the cord.

When carrying your laptop, use a laptop case. Never carry your laptop in a backpack, large purse, or other bag without a case designed specifically to protect laptops.

Make sure labels on CD's and DVD's are not peeling off. If a label is coming off a CD or DVD, it could jam your disc drive when you insert it.

Protect your laptop from temperature extremes. Your laptop should not be kept in extremely hot or extremely cold environments, and it should not be exposed to quick, extreme changes in temperature while it's on.

No laptop lasts forever. But you can extend the life of yours by taking steps to make sure it's properly protected and cared for. If you follow these steps, your laptop should have a long, productive and trouble-free life.

Do's and Don'ts of Creating Safe Passwords

If a crook gets hold of your password, he can get access to your entire life. Although no password is completely safe, there are ways to create passwords that will be difficult to crack. Here are a few steps to take if you want to create a safer, more secure password.
Don't use discrete words. Crooks who try to break passwords will sometimes use programs that cycle through every word in the English language. Avoid whole words that can be found in a dictionary.

Don't use personal information. Avoid using anything personal about you that others would know in your password.

Do use both upper and lower case letters. Some password applications are case sensitive, so it's helpful to have a password that incorporates upper and lower case letters.

Don't write your passwords down. You never know who will see the list of passwords you keep in your desk.

Do change your passwords regularly. Once you have the perfect password, you'll have to change it. It's smart to change your password every six months.

Don't use the same password for everything. It's crucial to make sure you have as many passwords as you have sites that ask you to sign in.

A secure password consists of seven or more letters and symbols, at least one numeral, and include both upper and lowercase letters. Avoid obvious words and number combinations, and keep your password secret and out of sight. If you do, your password will be better able to protect your information.

Tips on Buying Desktop Computer

Whether your old computer is shot or you have never bought a computer on your own before, you may be feeling a little bit nervous about the whole thing.
Buying a computer represents putting down a fair chunk of your hard earned money, and you may be nervous about getting a computer that isn't a great fit for your needs.

The truth is, getting a good desktop computer that suits you is easier than you think, and by simply keeping the following tips in mind, you'll be able to find the perfect computer that will keep you happy for years to come.

Know what you want your computer for Think about how you use your computer. Are you someone who only uses a computer for its word processing ability, or do you prefer to stay up to date on the latest games.
Maybe you are someone whose entertainment is largely focused around your computer; all of your communication and your movies are kept on your computer. By keeping a clear idea of what you need your computer for, you will be able to get the right machine.

Know what RAM is RAM stands for Random Access Memory, and you will find that what it does is affect the speed with which your computer "thinks," that is, processes action. If you are only using your computer for things like surfing online or writing, you'll find that a RAM of 512 MB is okay, though 1GB is ideal.
You'll find that this size will give you room to expand or grow if you want to later on, but that it's not so big that you are wasting your money. If you are going to be gaming, or doing advanced computer programming with your unit,, you will of course want more.

Don't worry so much about hard drive space Your hard drive space generally refers to the amount of information that you can keep on your computer, ranging from written work to audio and visual media.
You'll find that if you download a lot of videos that this can be eaten up fast, but in desktops, you'll find that it is very easy to add some more. Remember that while you do have a finite amount of space that it is all in how you use it.

Online or from the store? You'll find that ordering online is actually a lot cheaper, but keep in mind that you should have a clue about what you are looking it. If you choose to build a computer yourself, you'll find that it is much easier to get the parts online.
At a store, though, you will find that you can often take the time to look over the specs, speak with a sales representative and take a look around to see what else is available. It really depends on what you are comfortable with.

If you are looking to buy a desktop computer, remember that you really need to think about what you want it for. Once you have the function decided upon, it is very easy to figure out what machine will be perfect for you.

Free Software For Struggling Web Designers

Here are a few nifty programs for the thrifty web designer. They answer the question: What do you do if you can't afford $300+ for the popular tools but you don't want to use war3z?
(Note: Because some web publishers don't like having links to web sites in their articles, I've omitted them here. The following softwares can be found easily by typing their unique names in a search engine.)

1. NVU Web Editor.

Alternative to: Dreamweaver, Frontpage.

This is a pretty good web page editor, and is easy to use. Quite full-featured. Turns out good-looking web pages which display properly in FireFox and Internet Explorer. It has Source Code, WYSIWYG and Preview tabs which make editing a snap.

My only minor gripe is it doesn't support the display of Server Side Includes on-screen, because I use these [grin]. That would be asking for too much, I fear, as no other editor besides Dreamweaver supports this, as far as I know.

For people who want Word-For-Windows-For-The-Web, this is a nice alternative to FrontPage.

2. GIMP Image Editor.

Alternative to: Adobe Photoshop, PaintShop Pro.

This is a good image and photo manipulation package. I used it recently to make up a set of passport photographs. It did a fine job, but you need to examine all the nested menus; I found I was saving in a compressed format, when I didn't want to do that.

If you're used to Photoshop, the learning curve is slight. Like with any other software, you just need a bit of patience to discover where your favourite tools are. Give it a chance before your ADD kicks in(!)

3. OpenOffice.

Alternative to: Microsoft Word and Excel.

Now, this suite of programs is some of the best freeware available. People who know nothing beyond Microsoft will find these programs easy to use. Probably there are some minor compatibility issues with the more advanced 'features' of Microsoft softwares. If you are working for a Fortune 500 company, let them cough up the Microsoft licence fees and pay for being finicky.

For thrifty ol' you, OpenOffice is a steal, especially if you just want to open and manipulate a few Word and Excel files. There's also the strange satisfaction in hitting the 'uninstall' button on the Microsoft Office Suite.

4. Opera.

Alternative to: Internet Explorer, Firefox.

Ah, Opera, the also-ran of the browser wars. A handy thing to have installed if you want to quickly visit a site 'in disguise' i.e. display a different User Agent string and cookie profile.

This is a browser you need make no excuses for; it works a treat, and has all the features of its competitors.

5. SimplyMepis.

Alternative to: Microsoft Windows XP and Vista.

This is the only Linux operating system I can get to install on my old Dell Latitude. It is very easy to install and operate. It was a delightful surprise when it found my cable modem, when Windows couldn't. I clicked on the Firefox icon and bingo! internet access.

Burn the ISO image to a CD and you can try out SimplyMepis without installing it. You can use it to diagnose problems with your PC, or get at files if Windows is giving you grief.

See also Damn Small Linux. Burn this to a CD, and you have an emergency operating system if your PC throws a wobbly. It will run quickly from the CD.

The key selling point of these is that they're free, and have been developed independently of Microsoft products, and thus have less code bloat and 'eye candy'.

6. Ashampoo Burning Studio and CDBurnerXP.

Alternatives to: Nero Burning CD Rom.

These programs will help you burn your SimplyMepis ISO image to a CD. This means that when you boot up your PC with this disc in the CD drive, your PC will read it as an installation disk, or you can just browse the contents.

Nero is a fine software, but if you just want to bring the odd CD, try out these free alternatives.

Conclusion: The free softwares above are great if you want to be frugal, or just set up a PC for someone else, get the praise, and not have to ask your pal to fork out cash. Your PC can be free of bootleg or overpriced software. You can be free from labouring with commercial products, that have been bloated with unnecessary features, just to keep paying corporate customers happy!

Bespoke Software Development - Why Your Fear Of It Is Hurting You

With the obvious advantages of having software custom developed for an organization, many small businesses are put off by the idea. They fear the complexity or they feel the cost of this would be way beyond them. In fact these fears are largely unfounded. Nowadays there are many custom software houses that focus on small businesses as their main clients.
Such software houses will typically develop their applications using low-cost software solutions such as Access or Visual Basic. These low-cost custom solutions using readily available tools of course cost far less in maintenance contracts than the big, enterprise level solutions such as Oracle or Sybase.

A small business custom software solution provider will normally be able to advise you of the likely costs up front. He or she will be able to take your specification and create an initial design along with an initial estimate of how long the work will take to perform. Of course, accurate cost estimation is going to be crucial for any small business.

As any business owner knows, when you are developing software in-house, there are great risks in terms of costs but also in the prospect of developing software that might not work according to your business requirements. This risk is a very important reason to hire an outside software house to provide a custom solution for you. Unlike in-house IT departments, software houses have a real incentive to control costs and to provide solutions to you with the functionality agreed and at the cost specified at the time of project initiation.

How to Build an Impressive Social Networking Presence, Beginning with Facebook

Professional and social networking sites like LinkedIn, MySpace, Facebook, and Squidoo are effective outlets for finding new readers, but it is easy to find your message spread thin if you don't choose the right strategy. Many businesses settle for sparse profiles on various sites, never discovering the other powerful marketing tools many of these social networking platforms have to offer—most of them for free.
To avoid the scattershot approach, choose one or two social networking sites that fit your business well and invest the time to maximize your presence in them. Let's explore what that might look like if Facebook is one of your choices.

Prepare your best information before you start.

Avoid the "I will go back and fill that in later" trap. Have all your necessary information on hand, ready to copy and paste on the spot. Complete a worksheet containing:

1. Key Terms: Make a list of your best key terms and weave them into the rest of your worksheet items. Key terms are one, two, or three word terms that someone might use if they were searching for your business in a search engine.

2. General Information: Your Name Business Name Email Addresses URLs Instant Messaging screen names

3. Biographical and Descriptive Information: Short bio (50 words) Longer bio (100 words) Short company description (50 words) Longer company description (100 words) Business mission statement

4. List of Products

I based these worksheet items on a typical Facebook profile and page. If you choose a different social networking site, examine some completed profiles and base your worksheet items on them.

Create an account and thoroughly complete your profile

If you haven't already, get a Facebook account. Completely fill out your profile using your worksheet. Under the relationships tab, choose "networking." You can skip the personal and education tabs for business profiles, but there is no harm in filling them out. If you have an existing account, upgrade your profile information using your key terms.

But don't stop there!

Facebook, like most good social networking platforms, offers many marketing opportunities for businesses—some for free. You can find these by clicking the "Advertising" link in the footer of the Facebook site, or by following this link: http://www.facebook.com/business/.

Since I can't cover all of the marketing tools in one article, let's focus on my favorite: The Facebook Page. It's my favorite not only because it is free, but because it makes use of the many diverse Facebook applications.

Facebook pages are specifically for marketing a business or a product. They offer a way for a business to represent itself to the Facebook community in an authentic way. Facebook users can search pages the same way they search for people within the network community.

Create your page by going to "Page Manager" in the left sidebar of your Facebook profile, or by following this link: http://www.facebook.com/business/ and choosing Facebook Pages. Choose the best category for your business.

Use key terms in the name of your Facebook page!

It seems that the actual page name is the only text on a Facebook page that is used in a search. With that in mind, use at least two of your best key terms in your page name.

Populate your page with all of your best worksheet information. You may have only a few seconds to catch a reader's attention, so put your best key terms forward.

Once your page is in place, add applications to help represent your company in your own unique way. To find applications for your page, click on "Applications" in the upper left corner of your page, or search for them here: http://www.facebook.com/apps/.

Applications are not difficult to install and are usually very easy to set up. Use this general rule of thumb when choosing an application: If you can't figure out how to set it up after the second try, find another one. There is often more than one application available to accomplish the same task.

Applications Top Picks:

My Flickr (http://apps.facebook.com/myflickr/): Display photos from your Flickr account using this application. These photos can include logos, product photos, photos from events, etc.

Upcoming (http://apps.facebook.com/upcoming/): Add all of your events to upcoming.org, and you can easily display them on your Facebook page with Upcoming's Facebook application.

YouTube Box (http://apps.facebook.com/videobox/): Allows visitors to play your YouTube videos right on your Facebook page.

Simply RSS (http://apps.facebook.com/simplyrss/): This allows you to display up to eight RSS feeds on your Facebook page and display the feeds from your business's main site and newsrooms.

Implementing these applications creates an interactive page that also gives visitors a personable look into your business. To see all of these applications in use on one page, visit http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dalton-Publishing/9792568507.

Note: If you use a particular application regularly, consider donating to the application's creator—they do not get paid to develop these applications.

Promoting your social networking presence

Now that you have invested the time in creating an impressive presence on Facebook (or whichever social networks you chose), go the extra mile and research how you can promote your new presence both inside and outside of the network. Here is a link to Facebook's promotional guidelines: http://www.facebook.com/pages/manage/promo_guidelines.php.

Of course, invite everyone on your mailing lists to join your network and visit your sharp new page!

Don't turn your back on your investment

Remember: The social Web is a fickle place! You need to keep your content dynamic and interesting in order to encourage people to return to your page, or to recommend it to their friends. Do this, and you will see better results than those who just move on to building their next profile. Once you have a good, healthy presence in one community, use your experience to move on to your next successful presence.

Search Engine Optimization for Strategic Marketing

Copyright (c) 2008 Christian Fea
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to your website, and this is a key technique for a strategic marketing platform.

Search engine optimization drives traffic to a website by matching targeted keywords with searches performed by a search engine like Google or Yahoo. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the list of search results, or the higher it ranks, the more people will visit that site. If someone performs a search for "cosmetics" and your website comes up in the first position on the first page, more people will go to your site than the site in the first position on the second page, or even to the site that is the fifth position on the first page. Search engine optimization can also target different kinds of searches, including image search, local search, industry-specific, and vertical search engines.

As a marketing strategy for increasing a site's placement and relevance, search engine optimization considers how search algorithms work and what people search for. Search engine optimization may involve a site's coding, presentation and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site.

Another class of techniques, know as black hat search engine optimization or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm the search engine user's experience. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques and may remove them from their indexes.

SEO History

Webmasters and content providers began optimizing sites for search engines in the mid-1990s, as the first search engines were cataloging the early web. Initially, all a webmaster needed to do was submit a page, or URL, to the various engines which would send a spider to "crawl" that page, extract links to other pages from it, and return information found on the page to be indexed. The process involves a search engine spider downloading a page and storing it on the search engine's own server, where a second program, known as an indexer, extracts various information about the page, such as the words it contains and where these are located, as well as any weight for specific words and all links the page contains, which are then placed into a scheduler for crawling at a later date.

SEO for Your Strategic Marketing Strategy

Having your website high in the rankings of a search engine is a strategic marketing way to increase your exposure. The higher you rank on a search engine, the more likely people are to visit your site.

The leading search engines, Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft, use crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search results. Pages that are linked from other search engine indexed pages are found automatically and do not need to be submitted separately. Some search engines, notably Yahoo, operate a paid submission service that guarantee crawling for either a set fee or cost per click. These programs usually guarantee inclusion in the database, but do not guarantee specific ranking within the search results.

These are a few ideas on how to start thinking about applying search engine optimization to your business marketing plan. The first step to gaining new customers is by driving them to your site. Search engine optimization can be an important part of your successful strategic marketing plan by increasing the easy search-ability of your company's website and making your business more noticeable.

Technology Now Allows You to Edit Movies at Home

The usefulness of a camcorder is not only limited to the ability of the videographer but also on the type of equipment he chooses to use and maintain. Maintenance is a vital part of getting good video footage and caring for your stuff allows faults to be found preventing failure in the middle of your video taking work. Bateries like most equipment need proper care and monitoring for they do have a defined lifespan (mostly in the number of charge-duscharge cycles).
Today's batteries are some of the most sophistictaed ones ever in the video world, with some having active monitoring and using high tech nmaterials that offers longer charge times resulting in more video footage per battery pack. New batteries have to be conditioned (complete charge/discharge cycles, meaning using all the charge up till the device turns itself off then allowing it to fully charge again before reusing it for at least 3 times) This ensures the battery maximizes its potential with respect to the amount of charge it can hold which in time diminishes as the chemicals within breaks down (all batteries do this) till they cannot hold enough of a charge for a long time.

For a serious videographer, sveral battery packs are best for it allows you to lock and load in no time at all. Some even have back-up cameras and power packs on stand-by giving ample power for your video needs.

This form of filming technique is the act of starting a shot and panning left or right as you search for your next object of focus. It is not only dizzying but also prevents you from easily editing your recordings according to the scenes. Experts recommend at least 8 seconds of video on a subject that has ample material to be taken out as you compose your work into the final product. Footage you fail to focus on but deem to be vital later cannot be reshot as the magic of the moment is surely to have passed you. Planning also avoids this and a well planned shoot allows you to scope out good locations and vantage points to shoot from (just a note, other photographers would be scoping out for the same positions as you are) making your shoot planned and easy to edit when time comes.

The process is called so for it makes an old tape free and void of all previous video and audio that has been recorded onto it. It can be easily done with the lens cap on and in an isolated room. It can also be done before getting to bed so background noise is minimized and the tape becomes a true blank ready to take in another seeeion of video. Most CamCorders use a time search feature to search tracks faster, if a tape has old footage onto it, any gaps in the recording woudl result in a reset of the counter getting the scenes mixed up.

Experts use them to maintain the cleanliness of their recording heads allowing them to function at maximum effectivity each and every time. Some argue that this only wears the heads faster but it is better to have a worn out head than a dirty one that can fail you in an instant. As time develops, dirt and other debris accumulates onto your heads resulting in dirty footage with gaps and noise, cleaning can be done with approved cleaners form the equipment manufacturers, some even offer professional cleaning services to keep your video equipment in the best possible condition (its quite expensive and is more for professional videographers). Head cleaners are cheap and effective in beating normal dirt and grime on your heads but be sure to check the manuals for any notes on the subject.

New ideas are not easily accepted by everyone and creating a plan of introduction may help you start the process. Here are a few basic steps to introduce Rails:
Highlight the interesting points and advantages of using the Rails technology. Know your audience. Be aware of what they need and how Rails could meet them.

Explain how Rails differ from other technologies that are in competition with it. Discuss real applications made with Rails, its development and performance and the system requirements. Don't just talk about it, show a screencasts about it. Demonstrate how to use the Ruby technology, showing them how easy it is to use.

The choice of technology being used by customers is governed by what they consider as the standard. They don't risk using those programs not considered to be the regulars, and developers by giving in to them they are selling their customers short. Open source framework such as Ruby on Rails is very agile but people are not that keen to use them for they don't feel safe. However, vendors have found ways to introduce them and developers have learned how to use them. Constant use have led them to appreciate the RoR and are now convinced of its effectiveness and are enthusiastic with the accomplishments they have achieved.

Writing the best program would still be useless if people are clueless as to how it is managed. If you want to be successful in writing programs in Ruby, you should first learn how to run them. Two of the options available for running Ruby are: run commands as arguments that are passed to the ruby executable from a saved file, or from the Interactive Ruby shell; or, run Ruby programs as desktop and web applications. It is harder to make a decision regarding the method of sending the Ruby application to your users than the task of writing the Ruby program.

As with any other computer language, writing codes, mostly using IRB, is the best way to learn Ruby. If you have written a number of lines, place it in a file and run it. After you've figured out how it works, learn about the unit testing framework, try to discover the machinery that makes it work. Another way is to get involve in discussions and if you come across unanswered questions, do research, deliberate and come up with an answer. It would also be helpful if you let the program reveal itself to you, accept it as a simple program and could give you a straightforward solution to a problem.

From the users' perspective, the main difference between the Ruby programming language and that of the mainstream enterprise technologies is dynamic typing. This means that the need for clearly telling which type of an object it will reference is not needed as oppose to static typing wherein we tell the compiler that a certain variable will only be used to refer to objects of a specified type. On the other hand, in dynamic typing there is no compiler to tell us that we've made a mistake, like delivering the wrong type of object to a method, but we'll get a runtime exception when we perform that specific piece of code.

PHP Programming Made Easy

Here are some helpful basics on PHP: Begin, at all times, a PHP page with . (a period) and never neglect to use ; (semi colon) at the close of a variable. Secondly, before manually starting phpmyadmin to make your PHP program run properly, be ready to set up PHP, PHPTriad first. Next, to enable your php program to function, bring a php page in a .php wing. And lastly, don't forget that security is the main requirement in using this type of PHP language. In developing a page with PHP, high level of security is necessary.
It is also very important to note that if you really want your program to operate, follow instructions to the letter. With this type of system, accuracy is the key.

Contrary to common notion, programming is not really hard, at least at present. Compared to the earlier days of programming about more than twenty years ago when it was totally alien to most people, nowadays, almost anyone can learn this skill. It's true that during the infant stage of programming there were learning books to assist those who wanted to study and train in this field. However, we are luckier now because there are tutorials, mostly online, that can help us in developing programming skills.

On the other hand though, undergoing tutorials either online or in actual location should be boosted by one's perseverance and interest. Perseverance requires the learner to read tutorial lessons and later try out some actual programming work while interest pushes the person to really want to acquire and learn said ability.

Blogger is equipped with a superb interface used to tidy up blog entries as well as facilitate endorsement of a blog to attain a better position in its niche. This application only requires an uncomplicated SimpleXML set transported with an entire PHP system, along with some understanding of the Google Blogger API and a small part of PHP scripting to come up with the needed HTML code.

Blogger interface is so excellent that it should be put to full use when promoting a blog because with this method, one need not install blog software on a web server anymore since it is already inbuilt with Blogger. This way the web site owner saves time and effort, plus he is able to maintain his MySQL database allowance and set it aside for better and more advanced use in the future.

Mashup, in technological context, refers to a web application that makes use of a combination or mixture of data from two or more sources. This combination is then put together into one single device. A good example for this is the integration of cartographic data from Google Maps to real-estate facts, thus producing a different and fresh web service which is otherwise not provided by either or both sources. Consequently, the end-product of mashup is data or code that can be applied for software purposes.

Interestingly, mashup originated from a certain application in pop music, especially hip-hop in which a special song is created by combining two or more other songs.

Output Buffer is a process by which HTML or Javascript code or echo or print is produced in PHP with the information being sent to the browser and consequently to the web as an outcome. This is done by having the information stocked up on the server until the script is done executing, or by you doing something on the buffer itself.

To carry out this process, you should start the output buffer first. This should be done before anything else is fed to the browser. It is very important that you start it right after opening the PHP tag. You have to be very precise and sure that no prior action is done before the PHP tag is opened because even a lull or space can result to mistakes.

Being a Photo Editing Master in a Flash

Although photo editing programs nowadays seem to have all the basic (and advance!) editing tools a man needs, you have to keep in mind that not all the tools you see on the interface are beneficial. One of which is the cropping tool.
Before you start cropping all your images, you have to ask yourself, "Will the photo look better if I crop it?" If you answered no, then don't. Sometimes, cropping results to a "cramped" photo. You have to keep in mind the nature of the photo's subject. Sports photographers, for example, seldom use this tool because they feel the need of their photos to "breathe". The action is not focused on the ball (in basketball for example) only but all the players surrounding the offensive player are vital.

Perfection is almost impossible. There are always some flaws, destructions, and obstacles along the way. Development, being manifested almost everywhere, whether it is economical or technological, signifies changes. These innovations can either be advantageous or disadvantageous. They can either aggravate or resolve problems.

One field that can be said to be experiencing fantastic developments is digital photography. It can be said that it is more convenient than the traditional photography that uses analogue apparatus. Today, everything can be done. Initially, it can be perceived to be very useful but as people becomes more informed about digital photography, we have the tendency to abuse this knowledge. Today, your face can now be cropped and can serve as a dog's face. How "advanced" can things be?

Do think analogue photography also has advantages compared to digital photography? No? Then perhaps you should be enlightened about the pros and cons of both kinds of photography.

Digital photography allows the user to transfer files immediately after the shot was taken. No more films to develop, no more hassle of taking the films to the developer, no more fears of exposing your precious shots and no more unnecessary expenditures (like finishing the whole film before you can see the result). You can even edit the photo after!

Analogue photography however is much different than digital in a number of ways. Analogue photography requires your expertise in the shooting pictures since you cannot edit it after. From lighting to other background and foreground blurring, everything must be done manually.

If you are a new in photo editing and ask any professional what program to use, perhaps he or she will recommend you to use Ulead. Ulead is a very powerful tool, minus the complexity of the interface. Its latest program is the Ulead PhotoImpact and has received a lot of praises from photo editing gurus. The program has two editing modes: ExpressFix and Full Edit. ExpressFix is the tool for starters. With just a few clicks, you can edit a photo to your desired outcome. The Full Edit feature has three categories, namely enhancements, portrait touch-ups and effects. Ulead PhotoImpact interface is so easy to follow that you can edit like a pro in just a few minutes of familiarizing with the buttons.

Check Your Computer Frequently

If your PC's not powering up, don't immediately panic and run around the room while you're shouting and tearing your hair out (obviously I've done this before). Here are some basic tips on how to seal with this problem before you call your local (and expensive) PC repair man.
Check if your PC's plugged in. Yes, boys and girls, there's been a lot of situation where the the computer gets unplugged when your electric-bill-crazy-mom would pull it out while you're away from keyboard to save on the utility charges. Or you forgot that you pulled it out last night.

Have this ever happened to you? You go to the office on a Saturday morning to email a document to your boss (who just absolutely need to have it that same morning: on a SATURDAY) and you power on your computer. It goes through the same routine and then you wait....and wait...and wait until all the Windows program end loading. By the time it stops loading the morning is over and your boss is pissed. If this never happened to you, you're lucky--it happened to me. Anyway, enough about me, let's see what we can do for you.

Windows is notorious for logging in and off s-l-o-w-l-y. One of the main reasons for this are Windows programs. Albeit, they are important to help your computer run, it makes the lives of hectic people worse: especially if the Windows programs that keep it from logging on quickly are unimportant! So what do you do in these situations?

Keeping you personal computer secure nowadays is such a hard thing to do because of the viruses around. Even your little USB thumb drive can be a victim of these viruses. In fact, these thumb drives makes the transfer of viruses from PC to PC a lot more fast if they are left unsecure. Good thing, there are still free anti-virus softwares out there just like AVG is quite reliable since updates are released in a regular basis. If you use USB thumb drives, be sure to have them scanned by your anti-virus software before accessing it via Windows Explorer. You should also turn off the auto-play function when you plug in USB devices.

It's not only start-up that you'd like to speed up; you can also make sure that your system shuts down faster. If shutting down XP takes what seems to be an inordinate amount of time, here are a couple of steps you can take to speed up the shutdown process:

Don't have XP clear your paging file at shutdown. For security reasons, you can have XP clear your paging file (pagefile.sys) of its contents whenever you shut down. Your paging file is used to store temporary files and data, but when your system shuts down, information stays in the file. Some people prefer to have the paging file cleared at shutdown because sensitive information such as unencrypted passwords sometimes ends up in the file. However, clearing the paging file can slow shutdown times significantly, so if extreme security isn't a high priority, you might not want to clear it.

Using ROR With Basic Commands

As it turns out, blocks are the ideal tool for use ion implementing user interfaces where we have a defined graphic that signifies a button and pressing that button would result in a pre-set series of processes. A simple button definition can be:
bPlay = Button.new("Play") bPause = Button.new("Pause") # so on and so forth......

If a user presses any of the buttons it calls on the pre-set reactions/processes that are supposed to happen if the user requests that action, say a method called "buttonSelected" will be called upon. The said method would then have to have it's own method as a sub-class of the button action sub-class. This can be done by defining the sub-class such as the sample code in the next post would show.

Sample Code:

class PlayButton < Button def initialize super("Play") # invoke Button's initialize process end def buttonSelected # do something that should be done when the start button is pressed end end

bPlay = PlayButton.new

This type of approach would bring about two very problematic scenarios; one, the actions that are to be done when a button is selected and pressed is not a function of the button itself but of the overall device which has the buttons as interface; and last, this would have us making tons of buttons that would correspond to all the function the overall device that if the said button's features or process were to change that would create a ton of maintenance issues in efforts to re-define those buttons to do all the different functions buttons should do in the whole application/device.

That's where blocks come in, to simplify the definition and use of these buttons making maintenance simpler so we could call the specific block to which we pass on the necessary parameters or methods to attain the final outcome. Below is an example of how this can be achieved with blocks creating a class called devicebutton:

class DeviceButton < Button def initialize(label, &process) super(label) @action = action end def buttonSelected @action.call(self) end end

bPlay = DeviceButton.new("Play") {cdList.play} bPause = DeviceButton.new("Pause") {cdList.pause}

We have looked into many of the data structures that are supported by ruby along with brief examples of their use and structures. Now we turn to the different data types the language supports which is vital in maximizing the potential of Ruby. Numbers are classified into integers and floating point numbers. The handling capabilities of Ruby when it comes to integers is dependent on the amount of memory you have installed on your computer. They are also classified into two object classes stored in either the Fixnum or Bignum classes. Ruby handles conversion to and from these two types automatically and stores them in binary form in their respective classes. Integers can also be used with optional lead signs that denote octal, hex, or binary.

Integer values can also be translated into their ASCII character set equivalents with the use of a ? before the variable. The term numeric literal that is denoted by an exponent or a decimal point is converted into a Float object in correspondence to the native language's double data type. To obtain the absolute value of an integer you use the form aNumber.abs and not abs(aNumber) as with C and C++.

PHP Programming is Your Ticket to Web Success

Just like any programming language today, PHP has its share of commands which we now call as tags. These as the ones used to start and end a program or a website output in this case.
For some people, it may be too complicated but given a couple of sessions and trial on how to program using PHP, most of these tags such as and will become elementary for most.

You can build a lot of things with PHP and one important program you can compile are file uploaders which will be important when you need to place images or other files necessary for you site.

If you're a PHP developer who has built a certain number of web applications, then it's quite probable that you've already worked with HTTP file uploads. They play a relevant role in the business logic of any PHP program that permits users to transfer specific files from their client computers to a web server via a web-based front-end, which is generally represented by an online form.

Ranking behind Java, C, and Visual Basic, PHP is the fourth most popular computer programming language that is especially suited for web development. It mainly runs on a web server with PHP code as its input and generating web pages as output. PHP can be installed on web servers, operating systems and platforms. It can be used for command-line scripting and client-side GUI application, as well as with several relational database management systems. The PHP group provides the complete source code for users to build, customize and expand for their own purposes and the best part is, it is free of charge.

PHP is considered to be one of the most popular server-side scripting systems on the web. And because of PHP's popularity, a new generation of programmers who are familiar with PHP alone makes it possible to open a "command line interface" for PHP. Along with GUI functions support (Gtk or ncurses support), CLI or "command line interface" is a process of interacting with a computer by providing lines of text commands in written structure either from a keyboard input or from a script. This whole process of command line interface is considered to be a major step for PHP as it stands for its implementation as a genuine programming language.

Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994 originally generated PHP as a wrapper around Perl to display his resume information and collect some data like how many hits it was making. In 1995 Leodorf combined his own Form Interpreter with "personal home page tools" to create PHP/FI. In 1997, two Israeli developers of the Technion, Zeev Suraski and Andi Gutmans, rewrote the parser thus the basis of PHP3. PHP/FI 2 was officially released in November 1997 and public testing of PHP 3 began right away and the official launching was in June 1998. in 1999, the two Israelite started a new rewrite of PHP's core thus producing the Zend Engine. And in May 2000, PHP 4 was released and the development continues with PHP 5.

PHP's principal focus is server-side scripting which is a web server technology in that involves the process of running a script directly on the web server to create dynamic HTML pages thus fulfilling the user's request. PHP is originally intended to generate dynamic web pages and its server-side scripting function is the same with other server-side scripting languages that offer dynamic content from a web server to a client, such as http://ASP.NET system of Microsoft, Sun Microsystems's JavaServer Pages and mod perl. PHP attracted development of various frameworks (code library made for helping in software development) as well that give building blocks and a design structure to promote rapid application development (RAD).

Why Call a Technician if You Can Fix Your PC Yourself?

One day you may be in panic for finding out your files have vanished from your PC. Whether the problem involves software or hard drive, you can actually pull through the mess.
So you may have added a stick of RAM and then suddenly your PC seemingly crashes down: boot routines fail and there are sudden shutdowns. This can mean you have a case of bad memory upgrade.

Also, new addition to your memory may not be compatible with the existing one. In this case try to boot your PC and enter the memory settings. From there you can reboot again and wait for results that will show how the two memory sticks react to each other.

Be ready with any eventuality. Keep a set of tools that you can use anytime your PC bogs down. These tools should be placed strategically where you can reach for them in times of need.

You may invest on basic items such as screwdrivers for use in attaching or removing components; needle-nose pliers; tweezers for getting jumpers and hard to reach items; lint free cloth for cleaning and wiping parts; compressed air clears gummed up fans and vents to be used in reviving blinded optical drives and for data connections; electrical contact cleaner solution to improve electrical conductivity and a hand-held vacuum for sucking dirt, hair and other embedded particles.

Everybody who has been using windows for quite sometime may have encountered the blue screen of death but more often in Windows NT or newer versions of operating systems based on it. The blue screen is a memory stack overflow error that has resulted from an illegal operation that in other words means you're in deep trouble. If you just happened to be doing your term paper and you failed to set the auto-save function to a shorter interval or do an actual hard save (or back-up) and this happens when the application or document is open, pray. For office users, you might get some luck with auto recover information that sometimes results from such operations.

Back to the problem, it may be a software problem that has resulted in a fatal windows error that may be too hard for it to handle, but based on my several years experience in managing and maintaining PC's its most probably an indicator of a bad bank of memory modules or an overheating microprocessor (more commonly known to the rest of us as the CPU). Overclockers would know what to do with this (their ability to do such means they have an intimate knowledge of the things they have done) for they tend to do a lot of tinkering with the settings in the BIOS that sometimes it kinda' messes all things up.

An overheating processor may also mean that you failed to clean the internal parts of your CPU for the past year or so. Dust that accumulates on the several hundred if not thousands of chips inside the metal box some call the CPU acts as a very good insulator keeping the heat in and preventing the fans from venting it out of the casing. It can also fry the chips (literally, burnt odor from your CPU casing would be a good indicator of that) in their own juice, victim to long ours of playing online RPG games. Cleaning of your CPU and the other innards of your computer should be done at least once a year but if you happen to live or use the computer in a very dusty environment, the more frequent the better. A can of air (the type you get from the electronics store that is void of moisture) can easily blow out all stubborn debris and dust bunnies that have been growing in your PC. Also consider getting a can of contact cleaner that cleans the contacts of the various components of the CPU safely taking away the corrosion and other grime.

Blu-ray Disc, DVD and CD compatible 3wavelength playback / recording Optical Head

In addition to CD and DVD, the blu ray disc BD has a single 3 wavelength playback / recording optical head, capable of recording and playing back 3 formats. There is need for BD blu-ray disc recorder to record and playback DVD-R and CD-R. Therefore, a 3 wavelength recording / playback optical head is required to make it possible. A single unit 3 wavelength laser and also an objective lens corresponding to the 3 wavelengths have been developed in order to develop a 3 wavelength recording and playback optical head with most simple structure.
A prototype optical head was made to realize a common optical path for the 3 wavelengths, by utilizing the laser and the objective lens. A variable magnification function is the key to realize the 3 wavelength optical head in the 3 wavelength objective and laser lens. The function was realized by introducing expander lens assemblies whose magnifications were different for corresponding objective lens apertures for BD, CD and DVD. The efficiency from each laser to BD, DVD and CD can be maximized with the help of this function. This function enables high speed recording for each format. As for the object lens, introduction of aspherical glass and hologram lens to achieve spherical aberration correction corresponding to each wavelength enables one optical system to deal with 3 wavelengths.

With advancements in technology, the number of parts and size of the prototype optical head can be reduced by combining, for example, optoelectronic integrated circuit (OEIC) and so on. From the above discussion, we come to the conclusion that the single 3 wavelength playback / recording optical head is key to the expansion of BD bluray disc markets.

Current Comp TIA Certification: Comp TIA Security+ Exam Updates

For those who are already certified or are looking to be certified in the Comp TIA sphere, listen up, for a bit of a change is underway. Know that for the 2008 edition - specifically pertaining to the Security+ exam Ă¯¿½" it will be launched with an updated IT twist. Changes are not drastic here though, but rather quite straightforward with reasoning to stay on the cutting edge and morph with the change that is ever-constant in the IT security industry. The intent on modifying and, in a sense, regenerating the attached examination for the 2008 Security+ edition is to better prepare and maintain not only the outstanding and evolving excellence in which Comp TIA Certification transfers to it's certified individuals, but also to more proactively combat and defeat the new security issues that are currently on course and becoming more of a hazard.
An Ever-Changing and Rapidly Evolving IT Industry

As we all well know, technologies are never created and simply finished or finalized. Almost always, there are imminent changes - whether visible or unanticipated - on the IT horizon with transformations continually being planned and blue-printed, improvements invariably being made around the clock. And with technological evolution it's imperative to recognize that what must also change is the knowledge pushing and backing up the involved technologies. The aforementioned holds much truth to it, especially if effectiveness and adeptness in a desired field (in this case being IT security) is what a professional requires and desires.

This notion of continual progression and adapting, bettering as one goes along, in technological terms, carries over into the IT certification industry, especially within the realm of security.

Comp TIA Security+ Rundown

As the international and vendor-neutral certification validating a slew of varying IT security knowledge ranging from access control, cryptography, assessment and audits, network infrastructure, standard organizational security as well as systems security (and so on), such a certification is bound to be at the whim of how IT security issues arise, amplify and evolve. And currently, new forms of security issues have been popping up and many industry heads have taken notice. As such, the Security+ examination's structure and contents were taken into consideration for alteration and later (being now) planned to be put into action, making definite modifications happen.

Think of this modification situation from a preparatory stance. As incoming dangers emerge and attacks are conducted, most times, they unveil themselves as different and even stronger than before. So, therefore, by refreshing and adapting the current knowledge, as to combat current trends, professionally battling and winning against these IT terrors can be fully achieved.

Comp TIA Security+ Changes and What You Need To Know

About the Author
The updated version will be launched October 2008. But, know that what you have or want to have in terms of Comp TIA certification is not obsolete. This is so because the 2007 edition will still be readily available to certify with up through April 2009. And this is good, especially considering that if you are still, in fact, preparing for the Comp TIA Security+ exam, you will need to be cert

The Risk of File Attachments in Email

Email is fine for getting a message across and sorting out meetings, but it can be a bit dull, which is where file attachments come in. For instance, if you see a funny cartoon on the Net that you'd like to share with your mate, by all means send it, but check that it's fine by them first. Their email account may have a limit on such things - they may only be able to accept straight text, or files up to a certain size.
Also be aware that there are limits to the amount of data people are willing to download. As a rule of thumb, keep your attachments under 256k - a one minute download with a 56k modem. If you need to send something bigger, contact the other person first and check that they really want it and know how long it will take them to download. You may want to break it up into several smaller files and attach them to separate messages, so they don't lose everything if they have a connection problem while they're downloading.

If someone has sent you a massive file, you may have to download it before you can get to your other messages. This can be a nightmare if you're on-line at peak-rate time and you need some of the other emails. Remember that many people are justifiably dubious about opening unsolicited program, zip, or word files, because they can carry viruses.

The abundance of viruses has resulted in the birth of a whole new industry - antivirus software. Antivirus software abounds on the Net.

Which Antivirus Software is the Best?

Which software package is the best is a common question. The answer is: use a reputable, licensed copy and update it regularly. There are some differences between various programs, like file size, ability to scan zipped files and email, the update process, cost, and so on. On the whole, they all do a great job if installed correctly and updated often.

Prevention is Better than Cure

To adequately protect your computer against viruses it's essential that you follow these guidelines.

Load a reputable, licensed antivirus package onto your PC. These programs run silently in the background and are activated only when there's a virus alert.

Download virus definitions and updates on a weekly basis. New viruses come out daily. Disinfection patches are created to disable the viruses. If you do not update your definitions regularly your program will not be able to recognize new strands and new viruses.

Scan your files and drives for viruses at least once a week. If a virus somehow crept in without you knowing about it, scanning will find it. The software will then give you options to quarantine, inoculate or delete the culprit. Backup important work often. Be sure to backup to floppy or CD so you have backups of any disk and/or file on the computer that may be corrupted by a virus if it strikes on your computer.

IPod Technology Has Advanced Music As We Know It

The Apple Ipod has grown tremendously popular since its release in late 2001. In fact over 100 million of them have been sold to date with no sells drop in sight. There are many accessories for them such as speakers, earphones and carrying cases.
It has revolutionized the way we listen to our music. There are Ipods out on the market now that have more gigabytes than many brand new computers. Other mp3 player makers have modeled their mp3 players to resemble it's competitor in appearance and functionality. There have been some slight problems associated with Ipods in the past though.

Issues over the audio volume came to the Apple imprint in the form of a lawsuit. Since then Ipods can be locked so the volume can't pass a certain point. People had complained about the possibility of hearing loss if the player were turned all the way up. Even violence has been associated with the Ipod.

Due to the unique headphones that the Ipod has, people have become victims of robberies. The attacker can see your earphones and know that you have an Ipod which probably cost you a few hundred dollars. It is advised no to use the Ipod earphones if you are going to listen to music while you are out.

There are several different types of Ipods that vary in gigabyte space, color and functionality out on the market. Some are only available in certain countries. Gigabyte space ranges from as low as 512 MB all the way up to 160 gigabytes of space. With fifteen styles to choose from like the iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod touch and iPod classic, you can mix and match with the gigabyte space to get the one that's right for you.

Ipods were originally made for just music. However, this has recently changed. You can now get audio and video Ipods with photo settings along with it. The newer Ipod Touch allows for audio, video, photo and limited internet use. Some of the best features on the Ipod include its small size, resolution display and its playback time. Although each model is different, this seems to be the prevailing opinion as to what attracts people to buy the Ipod instead of the many other mp3 players brands.

It is common practice for a health club to include complementary Ipods for use during work outs. One story out of India detailed of one woman's fascination with her Ipod. She would eventually go on to married to the 30 gigabyte Ipod in a private ceremony. People caused a huge stir when they began to auction off the pre owned Ipods full of music. We have had to think about issues that were just impossible not that long ago.

Yet today, we are debating whether or not a person can sell a product that holds songs with song already stored on it. Nike and Ipod recent teamed up to make the Ipod shoe. One of the shoes has an Ipod stored in the sole of it. One of the biggest complaints with the cd players was the skipping whenever a person with move in a motion that didn't agree with their cd.

The Ipod puts an end to that once and for all. This has got to be one of the biggest reasons many people switched from their cd walkman to the Ipod.

Staying Connected: Your Business Depends on It

My internet connection was out all last evening and I became astonished at just how much I rely on it day to day. I mean, I'm plenty old enough to have lived in a world where people didn't even have computers in their home, let alone 24 hour broadband connections. Now it seems that practically everything I do involves the need for some level of connection to the net. Even passive entertainment, like movies and TV, i tend to download from iTunes, so I couldn't even pull new content to watch while I waited for the problem to be fixed by my service provider. Thanks to my iPhone and the AT&T Edge network, it is unlikely I'll ever be completely disconnected. My email and web browsing can be done just as well, albeit slowly, on my iPhone, lacking nothing. That is, of course, if you don't count the need to download anything.
So there I sat feeling totally lost. I was in the middle of updating my primary website and pages were not properly uploaded to the server. Now, even if others could continue to visit my page, while I was offline, they may have found blank pages and error codes instead of useful content. To a new visitor, this type of thing could completely erode any potential trust in your site or service. It could mean lost revenue.

I remember when I first got broadband back in Vegas in the late 1990's, it seemed there was still plenty to do without the need of it. Of course, in that day, I had yet to start my website or the others I am now building. Today we live in an age where a business in its entirety can be run on the web. How dangerous is that when the fate of your enterprise could be in the hands of your service provider? Worse still, what if your fate is in the hands of cables and technology laid down over a decade ago?

I've read that some internet entrepreneurs will choose to have both DSL and cable as a contingency against just this sort of thing. I have also read that many will use multiple web hosting services for their different sites so that they all don't end up on one server. Should it crash, so too would any income they might be generating. With multiple hosting services, there may be a slightly greater expense, but if one income generating sight goes down, others may still be bringing in the bacon.

I've only recently started branching out into using more than one web hosting service. I already see the value in it. In the absence of a reliable cable connection, and with the convenience of still being connected via my iPhone when it is out, I am also starting to see the value of having more than one way to access the net and my business. As you grow you internet enterprises, it might be better to consider implementing these strategies sooner rather than later. The alternative is that a simple outage could leave you cut off from potential revenue sources.

Installing A Registry Cleaning Program

Do you need a Registry cleaner? You need a windows registry cleaner if you have some of these common problems with your computer.
For example

-Your computer moves much slower than when you first got it

-Your Computer crashes all the time and when you are doing something important

-Your Computer needs constant restarting

-Your Computer is not able to remove software using the add/remove dialog

-Get the "Blue Screen of Death"

-Computer does not reboot right

-Your Computer does not shutdown correctly

If you answer to some of these examples than more and likely your windows has a registry error somewhere. First things first you need a good solid registry cleaning program. I highly recommend Regcure myself. But before you run any program that involves cleaning the registry you need to backup your registry in case something goes wrong (it rarely does). First go to start than click on run. Than type "regedit". It brings up a folder and than go to file and export to wherever you can find it later. Most people like to use the current date as the file name but anything works. Now your ready to clean any corrupted file that is in your windows registry.

Now get ready to install your registry cleaner. If your computer is really slow you might want to clear out any unnecessary files on the computer to speed things up later. Right click c drive in my computer and do disk cleanup. Then pick anything that you know you won't need later like the recycle bin. Some computers need this little later but than again some won't it depends on how clogged your computer is at first. Now your ready to download and install your registry cleaning program of your choice. Give Regcure a look; it's one of the leading registry programs out there.
