North Central C-MED Signs On With Visual Technologies

Hartford, CT - February 05, 2004 - Visual Technologies, the software/web development and networking services company, has just announced a new business relationship with North Central C-MED (Coordinated Medical Emergency Direction), a division of the North Central Connecticut EMS Council. North Central C-MED is a coordination service for EMS services in the Greater Hartford Area, serving 29 cities and towns and 8 major medical centers. Visual Technologies is managing the network of the Computer Aided Dispatch system for North Central C-MED, which provides direct radio transmission between pre-hospital providers (paramedics, EMTs) and emergency departments at area hospitals to coordinate patient care. The C-MED system also coordinates EMS responses to Mass Casualty Incidents and the necessary patient distribution from the local scene to area hospitals.



Visual Technologies will be overseeing the network for the Computer Aided Dispatch system, supporting the 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year service that North Central C-MED provides to the public. The network will be managed under Visual Technologies' Total Network Support (TNS) program, which provides comprehensive proactive support and maintenance to create secure network environments. Visual Technologies' prior experience and expertise in serving emergency dispatch centers will also be relied upon as an estimated 120,000 calls will be processed through North Central C-MED in the coming year.
